15 September 2014 | The "Wife" has been sold!

Wye’s famous ‘Wife of Bath’ restaurant in Upper Bridge Street has been sold by Taylor Riley in Ashford.

The restaurant first opened in 1963 and will retain the historic name with which it has traded successfully for 51 years.

The solidly attractive Victorian building with bay-windowed frontage houses the restaurant on the ground floor, with delightful en suite rooms and cottage rooms for overnight guests.

Taylor Riley is pleased with the sale, as it is the second time he has sold this building, the first time being 24 years ago.

The new owner is a local businessman and the restaurant is expected to open shortly.

Taylor Riley can be contacted on 01233 629281 for further information on this and for any other commercial property advice.
